What to do when bad stuff happens

When bad or negative things happen to you, do you default to a place of “something is missing, lacking or wrong”?
We all travell the road of anxiety and worry but we each have the power to change what happens next in our life.
The minute we entertain questions such as “what’s wrong?” or “why did this happen to me?” we amp up the volume on anxiety and fear and narrow down what we think is possible.

And whatever we focus on gets bigger, louder and more visible.
Anxiety then becomes the microscopic lens through which we question, analyse and dissect everything else.
In any given moment, we have the opportunity to change how we respond to what happens to us.
So, rather than entertain that something is lacking, missing or wrong, affirm thoughts about how you want to experience your life, your relationships and what you want for yourself.
Affirm joy, love, peace and empowerment. Affirm abundance. Affirm ease.
Here are some questions to help you unhook from negativity and reconnect to a more empowered version of your life:
  • How do you want see yourself instead?
  • How do you want see your life instead?
  • How do you want see others in your life instead?
  • How do you want to feel instead?
Also, come back to your breath so that you can allow fear and anxiety to move and transform.  Breath is a powerful anchor for staying present.
Your breath and these questions will help you step back from “what is wrong, lacking and missing” and get present in who you are and what’s possible for you.
This is like a good spring-clean for your thoughts and emotions.  Feels good already!

So let go of comparison, blame and victimhood. Let go of gossip. Let go of resentment and judgment.
Embrace your life as it is right now. Embrace your story. Your journey. Dare to see beyond what is current and dream bigger.  Dare to take bold steps to realise your dreams. Dare to trust yourself and speak your truth. Dare to be You.
